What Members are Saying About MacDeveloper
As a heavy Mac/Apple user with a home local network of 7 machines, a NAS server (and one windows); I'm always looking for ways to properly manage system applications, traffic flow as well as easy access to our home media center. MacDeveloper is a fantastic opportunity for me to not only beta some really cool applications, but also learn how they're built so I can build/customize my own. The very first app I tested was a home run and something I use regularly. Awesome site, thank you!
MacDeveloper is exactly what individual developers like me where waiting for. I already fixed several bugs pointed out by the beta pool. Thanks for this most useful service.
I love MacDeveloper.net! It's simple and useful.
We thought Layers was pretty much ready for release when we opened a MacDeveloper Project. Thanks to its heterogeneus community of testers we found a couple of insidious bugs. MacDeveloper is a great tool for indies. The possibility to expand the beta cycle and reach out to more people is wonderful. But the killer point for us is the relation with the testers, the community. We've received very useful feature requests, good and kind feedback, and a fair overview of market reception. We have now a clearer idea of what to expect when hitting the real world. A must in any developer toolbox.
MacDeveloper is a great tool for a very small company like MacMation. It allows you to get helpful bug reports, without to have to maintain an army of beta testers. The quality of the bug reports is excellent. They cover a much larger base than what could be possible by keeping this process internally. It goes from crashing bugs to more subtle problem, such as UI flaws. It already helped to increase the quality of the beta tested application by several levels.
shinywhitebox used MacDeveoper for the beta phase of iShowU Studio, starting late December 2013 through to end of March 2014. Using MacDeveloper, shinywhitebox was able to focus its alpha and beta testing far more than previously. MacDeveloper put us in touch with knowledgeable users which enabled us to spend less time "coaching" people through problems and more time finding and fixing issues. Ray was communicative and helpful throughout the beta cycle; even implanting new features just days after we requested them. Highly recommended.
prMac was already a great service, and now MacDeveloper has made it stupidly easy to connect with a large group of testers. I cannot understate how useful this is both for Mac developers and the users who will end up with better software because of it.
A great way to discover unique new tools and help out developers to shine some insight on user experience.
MacDeveloper has the potential to become another must-have service for developers. With its great features, clean and easy to use UI, finding beta testers has never been easier. The platform is an excellent way to improve communications, as well as tighten the relationship between developers and their customers. I wish I already had this for my first release! Highly recommended!
I am in the Beta Pool here at MacDeveloper and it's truly a unique and highly productive way to work together with the developers. What's great is that the site is so easy to use and that it has a clean design. Beta testing has never been this much fun!
Proud to be a tester to help making better OS X software.
MacDeveloper has brought a ton of great feedback and request that I could have never got by manually finding beta testers. All the users are friendly and are offering constructive things to help my application. This has quickly become a vital resource for my developing process. The interface is easy and there are some innovative features.
Brilliant way of trying new apps out and helping out the developer at the same time. I like the way that you can earn the purchase of the apps. Thank you very much for this amazing site. It helps both the user and developer in so many ways.
Being able to get feedback from a set of anonymous testers running on a range of different OSes and architectures is invaluable. But the real gem that MacDeveloper has brought to the table is the setting of expections. As a developer I'm able to submit a product to real field use without the responsibility of paying customers. The testers are expecting 'betaware' and are probably actually a little pleased when problems occur - they've found a bug!! I don't have to make my first 100 customers my de facto beta tester! Thanks MacDeveloper!
During my 12 years of developing software for the Mac, we always had to cobble together a force of beta testers for every product. It was not organized, scientific or simple. Now that has changed. MacDeveloper is focused on creating an army of professional beta testers and the mechanism that is available to any Mac developer. Just as they did with prMac, MacDeveloper works amazingly well for all the parties involved. The beta testers get great software, developers get feedback from hundreds of great testers. I would highly recommend this service but it would be giving away a major secret to being a successful Mac developer.
